Abstract
Deflation
of Kendari City in April 2017, recorded at 0,13 percent with the
Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 122,90. Nationally from 82 cities counting
inflation, twenty-nine cities recorded deflation and fifty-three cities
recorded inflation. The highest deflation was recorded in Singaraja
(Bali Province) of 1,08 percent and the lowest deflation recorded in DKI
Jakarta (DKI Jakarta) and Manado (Sulawesi Utara Province) 0,02
percent. Meanwhile, the largest inflation recorded in Pangkal Pinang
(Kepulauan Bangka Belitung Province) 1,02 percent.
Deflation in
Kendari city was caused by the decrease of price index in foodstuff
group 1,19 percent and clothing 0,34 percent. While the inflation
recorded groups are housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 0,57
percent; Transportation, communication and financial services 0,11
percent; Health 0,05 percent; Education, recreation and sports 0,02 and
finished food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco 0,01 percent.
Commodities
contributing the largest deflation are cayenne pepper; Tembang; Rambe;
spinach; layang/benggol; sugar; Katamba; cooking oil; Chicken and red
onions.
Commodities contributing to inflation are electricity
tariffs; kembung/gembung /banyar/gembolo/aso-aso; cakalang/sisik; Cell
phone pulse rate; Vegetable tomatoes; Tomato fruit; sweet bread;
Pomfret; Green mustard greens and clove cigarettes filter.
From the
eleven cities on the island of Sulawesi, four cities recorded deflation
and seven cities recorded inflation. The highest deflation was recorded
in Baubau (Sulawesi Tenggara Province) 0,67 percent with CPI 128,42 and
the lowest deflation recorded in Manado (Sulawesi Utara Province) 0,02
percent with CPI of 128,77.
The inflation rate of Kendari City in
calendar year (January-April) 2017 was recorded at 1,00 percent and
year-on-year inflation rate (April 2017 to April 2016) was 2,91 percent.
The
inflation rate of the same period of calendar year (January-April) 2016
was 1,66 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (April 2016 to
April 2015) was recorded at 4,20 percent.
National Inflation on April
2017 was 0,09 percent, inflation rate (January - April 2017) was 1,28
percent and year on year inflation rate (April 2017 to April 2016) was
recorded at 4,17 percent.
