Abstract

Indonesia Democracy Index (IDI) Southeast Sulawesi in 2016 was recorded at 71.13 (scale 0 - 100), up 1.69 points compared to the achievements in 2015 (69.44). At that level, the performance of democracy in Southeast Sulawesi is recorded in the "moderate" category. In general the level of regional democracy is grouped into three categories namely "good" (index> 80), "medium" (index 60 - 80), and "bad" (index <60).
The increase of IDI Southeast Sulawesi 2016 comes from the index value of "Democratic Institutions" which rose 12.67 points (from 61.99 to 74.66). While the "Civil Liberties" aspect index declined by 3.07 points (from 91.14 to 88.07) and the aspect of "Political Rights" fell by 1.44 points (from 56.95 to 55.51). IDI data are collected from 4 (four) sources: (1) local newspaper reviews, (2) document review (Perda, Pergub, etc), (3) Focus Group Discussion (FGD), and (4) in-depth interviews.
