Abstract

Southeast Sulawesi's NTP in August 2023 was recorded at 102.67 or an increase of 1.26 percent compared to the previous month which was recorded at 101.40.

The increase in NTP was due to an increase in the price index received by farmers (It) by 1.13 percent, higher than the price index paid by farmers (Ib) which decreased by 0.13 percent.

Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) is a comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib).

NTP is an indicator to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the exchangeability (terms of trade) of agricultural products for goods and services consumed and for production costs.

The NTP for each subsector is recorded as follows: Food Crops Subsector (NTPP) 97.78; Horticulture Subsector (NTPH) 105.81; People's Plantation Plantation Subsector (NTPR) 103.04; Livestock Subsector (NTPT) 108.50 and Fisheries Subsector (NTNP) 104.80. Meanwhile, the National NTP Index was 111.85 or an increase of 1.09 percent from the previous month's 110.64.

In August 2023, nationally 30 provinces experienced an increase in NTP, while 4 other provinces experienced a decrease in NTP. The highest increase was recorded in West Sulawesi Province, namely 2.47 percent, while the largest decrease was recorded in South Sumater Province, amounting to 1.32 percent.

In August 2023, there was a decrease in the Household Consumption Index (IKRT) in Southeast Sulawesi by 0.15 percent, one of which was caused by a decrease in the index value in the food, beverage and tobacco expenditure group.
