Abstract

February 2022 the combined inflation of 2 cities in Southeast Sulawesi was -0.03 percent. The deepest deflation occurred in Tanjung Pandan at 2.08 percent
in February 2022 there was a deflation of 0.03 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 108.35. Of the 90 CPI cities, 53 cities experienced deflation and 37 cities experienced inflation. The deepest deflation was recorded in Tanjung Pandan at 2.08 percent with a CPI of 109.20 and the lowest deflation was recorded in Palembang, Palangka Raya, and Tarakan at 0.01 percent each with a CPI of 107.54; 108.50; and 108.41. Meanwhile, the highest inflation was recorded in Kupang at 0.65 percent with a CPI of 107.17 and the lowest inflation was recorded in Tanjung Selor at 0.01 percent with a CPI of 106.29.
Deflation occurred due to a decrease in prices as indicated by a decrease in the price index in the food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.98 percent and in the clothing and footwear category by 0.002 percent. The group experiencing inflation is the transportation group 1.39 percent; equipment, equipment, and household routine maintenance group 0.42 percent; health group 0.37 percent; food and beverage/restaurant supply group 0.29 percent; personal care and other services group 0.23 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel 0.14 percent; information, communication, and financial services group 0.002 percent; and recreation, sports, and culture groups 0.0003 percent. While the education group did not experience changes/relatively stable
The inflation rate for the calendar year (January-February) 2022 is 0.44 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (February 2022 against February 2021) is 3.42 percent.
Commodities contributing to deflation include cayenne pepper, broiler eggs, mackerel/bloated fish/banyar fish/gembolo fish/aso-aso fish, scad fish/benggol fish and selar fish/tude fish.
Commodities contributing to inflation include cars, air transportation, wet prawns, broiled chicken and shallots.
