Abstract

Southeast Sulawesi with all its natural resource potential has opportunities in foreign trade which are reflected in export statistics. Export Statistics Data is obtained from the Goods Export Notification Document (PEB) from Customs and Excise. Commodities that have been Southeast Sulawesi's mainstay include iron and steel and various marine products, while export destination countries are spread across the continents of Asia to America.
Southeast Sulawesi's export value in August 2023 reached US$396.89 million or an increase of 51.44 percent compared to exports in July 2023 which were recorded at US$262.08 million. Meanwhile, the export volume in August 2023 was recorded at 247.75 thousand tons, down 14.80 percent compared to the export volume in July 2023 which was recorded at 290.78 thousand tons.
The largest increase in Southeast Sulawesi exports in August 2023 occurred in processed meat and fish commodities worth US$0.91 million (a significant increase of 5,127.25 percent) where in July 2023 it was US$0.02 million, rising to US$0.92 million in August 2023
Southeast Sulawesi's import value in August 2023 reached US$129.03 million, up 3.86 percent compared to July 2023 or down 67.32 percent compared to August 2022.
